darsh's life

to move is to feel alive

Over all the adventures and spontaneous things I have done this year, there is a type of adventure that has made me the happiest and feel the most alive - one that involves movement.

This may have been the time I road tripped from Sydney to Adelaide1 and back for a conference. Where I saw the landscape gradually change as we crossed states. Where I stopped at random rest stops where to my left were wild goats and to my right was a wild emu. Staying at small towns and imagining life there. Cherishing the photos I took along the way, trying to immortalise how places made me feel.

Or, it might have been the time where I prepped my bag of cameras and lenses to go on a photo trip with a friend. Only the said friend kept the location a surprise until it was revealed halfway through. Seeing the roads roll on the soft early morning light, whilst making intuitive stops along a hazy final destination felt so unlike day to day, structured life.

Finally, it could have been the opportunity to see a band perform a favourite album in a different city (a first for me). The frantic planning of work, flights, accommodation, and the anticipation the days before. Then to move from one part of the city to another, finally to gather, listen, make new gig friends, and be free and full of life in the moshpit.

I invite you all to find life in movement this year if you get a chance. The early wake ups, the excessive planning, and the daring leap will be worth it - I promise.
