what else is there to do, right?
the thought of sisyphus being happy soothes us
it's one of the deepest desires of our psyche
to know of a figure that smiles as they suffer
for the suffering smile is our only defiance
the other smiling fool now notices
that sisyphus was not happy at all
an imprisoned human
with a rare view of the mountain
had seen sisyphus get crushed
under the weight of suffering
and yet, the legend must continue in untruth
for we are not able to bear that sisyphus was also defeated
by what all humans must overcome:
their suffering as the price of consciousness
