darsh's life

can we do it all?

I try to do too many things at once so I don't miss out on things I am interested in. So far it's worked out okay. It can be stressful at times. The biggest negative is managing your own internal expectations on the quality multitasking like this will produce. For example, you can't expect to do amazing work whilst also catching that event you wanted to go and see while also tracking that new amazing hobby.

You'll either have to do mediocre work, give up sleep, or something else to compensate.

It is however super satisfying when you can do everything you want to do. I tend to experience them on those rare days when my mind and body are working with me to do whatever I need it to do. I am exhausted by the end, but mentally ticking those things off and having more experiences to take with you is enticing.

So, the goal is to continue this fine dance, understand my capacity, and keep tuning it until I am making the least amount of compromises on my endeavours in order to maximise experience and enjoyment. Wish me luck!

There's probably some sort of algorithm that can be created here (or already has knowing Comp Sci folks) but it's something I am going to compromise on to fulfil my other goal of adequate sleep 😊
